“Masterpieces in Motion: How Art and Community Transform Lives“
Every great masterpiece begins with a blank canvas—and at We Care Arts, they see that same potential in the individuals they serve. On April 14th, Executive Director Katie Neubert will share how the organization empowers healing through art and community by providing opportunities for people with developmental disabilities, substance use disorders, and mental health diagnoses to connect, create, and thrive. Through free on-site and virtual classes, employment training, high school Transition to Work programs, and outreach services, We Care Arts impacted 3,086 individuals in 2024 across six counties in the Greater Miami Valley. Their programs help participants build skills, grow in confidence, and experience the joy of creative expression within a welcoming and inclusive community. Still, there is more work to be done. We Care Arts is continuing to rebuild from the effects of COVID-19, a time when the organization was reduced to just four employees and no artist-clients on-site. While tremendous progress has been made, the need remains great—and each open seat in their classrooms represents an opportunity waiting to be filled. Katie looks forward to sharing how, together, we can help paint a brighter, more connected future—one brushstroke at a time.
