“Fix the System: Let’s Protect What Matters Most”
For more than a century, the Miami Conservancy District’s flood protection system has kept Southwest Ohio safe from devastating floods—protecting lives, homes, and our regional economy. But today, our system faces a major challenge: over the next 20 years, we’ve estimated that about $450 million will be needed for maintenance and upgrades over the next 20 years, yet the current funding formula will generate about half that amount. We’re developing a new approach that shares costs among everyone who contributes to flooding and benefits from protection. With community feedback, leadership, and support, we can ensure our flood protection system remains strong for the next 100 years
