The Rotary Club of Dayton Foundation awarded several grants this quarter. Below are some of the recipients.
Diabetes Dayton
Donna Queen accepted a grant on behalf of Diabetes Dayton and spoke about Camp Comanche.
- Impact: The camp has operated for 63 years, serving approximately 96 children with Type 1 diabetes (ages 8–17) annually.
- Experience: The week-long camp allows kids to participate in activities such as horseback riding and swimming while being surrounded by peers managing the same condition.
Club President-Elect Kelly Lehman presented the Impact Grant on behalf of the Rotary Club of Dayton Foundation.
Dayton Diaper Depot
Dayton Diaper Depot is “building better futures from the bottom up.” They provide vital personal health products to support infants, children, and mothers, easing the burden on economically stressed families. Trustee Scott Kayser and his diaper-clad partner, Harrison, presented the grant to Executive Director Maggie Schneemann and Volunteer Coordinator Mary Beth Thomas.
With a mission to improve the community’s social, economic, and health outcomes by providing access to basic hygiene products for those who need them most, Dayton Diaper Depot is doing vital work to ensure the health of our most vulnerable. The Foundation is proud to support their work and looks forward to their success.
Eastway Behavioral Healthcare
Eastway Behavioral Health is advancing behavioral healthcare, housing and employment effectiveness through the creation of innovative programs and services that positively impact the lives of those we serve, everyday for more than 60 years.
Serving on the frontlines of our community’s mental health crisis, Eastway provides vital services to youth to ensure no one feels alone. We also want to welcome Eastway as the newest member of the Rotary Club of Dayton! They recently joined, and we look forward to serving alongside them.
Graceworks
Graceworks supports the most vulnerable among us, providing a place for our seniors to age in place with dignity. In addition to their senior services, they also support the developmentally disabled through their Enhanced Living Program.
This $3,000 Impact Grant will support their Enhanced Living Program by providing funds to construct an outdoor social and recreation space on the Graceworks campus. Providing developmentally disabled patrons with an inclusive space to socialize and enjoy outside greenspace, this project will enhance their quality of life through community and connection.
CountyCorp
Trustee Brian Martin presented a $3,000 Impact Grant to CountyCorp to support homeowner education and improve homeownership rates in our community. This grant will support four post-purchase homeownership education programs in 2026.
County Corp is the private non-profit development corporation for Montgomery County. The mission of County Corp is to improve our greater Dayton-Montgomery County community by providing affordable housing and youth development programs that have a real impact on the lives of our residents. Our Vision is to be the premier provider of programs that create safe, stable neighborhoods.
The Rotary Club of Dayton Foundation
The Dayton Rotary Club Foundation was formed by members of Dayton Rotary in 1954 by converting remaining funds ($16,517.00) from an old Dayton Rotary Student Loan Fund.
The Foundation is a separate entity from the Club, governed by a board of Trustees elected by the Club. As the philanthropic arm of the Rotary Club of Dayton, The Foundation awards grants quarterly to qualified nonprofits in the Miami Valley.
