“The Barnes Revival Project: Restoring a Landmark…
Reigniting Opportunity”
Since 1929, The Barnes building has stood as one of Kettering’s most recognized landmarks and an
important part of the community’s history. For generations, it served as a high school, middle school,
and administrative center while also functioning as a gathering place for civic life. Today, a bold partnership between Kettering City Schools, the City of Kettering, The Schiewetz Foundation and COHatch are working to ensure this historic building is not lost, but reborn as a powerful asset for the region’s future. Together, they envisioned a revitalized Barnes that could once again serve the community.
