People of Action

What We Do

The Rotary Club of Dayton improves the Dayton region through service, support, and philanthropy. Our support reaches locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally. With many service opportunities, we are People of Action who roll up our sleeves and serve our community.

Service

The Rotary Club of Dayton performs a variety of community service projects throughout the Miami Valley. Through hands-on involvement and support, we work to improve our community and our world one nonprofit partner at a time. Past partners include:

  • Miami Conservancy District
  • Crayons 2 Classrooms
  • Downtown Dayton Partnership
  • Miami Valley Meals
  • Sleep in Heavenly Peace
  • Downtown Dayton Partnership

Philanthropy

Our club provides financial support to a variety of causes throughout the Miami Valley through The Dayton Rotary Club Foundation. The Foundation awards grants to qualified nonprofits in the Miami Valley. At Summerfest 2024, The Foundation awarded a $50,000 Signature Grant to Daybreak, Inc. for their efforts to provide mental health services to at-risk youth. Past impact grant recipients are listed on our Foundation page.

In addition to the Foundation’s regular activities, each new class of members is challenged to take over one meeting each year to raise funds for their chosen cause. These “Red Ribbon” takeover meetings have raised as much as $25,000. Past beneficiaries include:

  • The Foodbank, Inc.
  • The Village Network
  • Victory Project
  • Dayton Police K-9 Unit

Our Club also supports the Rotary International Foundation and their efforts to eradicate polio and ensure access to clean, fresh water, among other initiatives.
